    Creation of the first Pronuptia ready-to-wear bridal gown
    Pronuptia opens a store in Paris, and for the first time in the world makes a "ready-to-wear" bridal gown available for retail sale. In the 1960s, Pronuptia becomes the number two franchise network in France. The first store outside France opens in 1962 in Brussels in Belgium.

    Pronuptia celebrates its 20th anniversary
    For its 20th anniversary, in a blaze of publicity, Pronuptia organises a big fashion show entitled "All dressed in white but not all romantic". The Fabienne dress, the first with a train, was worn by more than 5,600 brides in the same year.

  • 1987
    The all-night wedding night
    Early in 1987, Pronuptia organises the all-night wedding night. The aim of the event was to show the return to strong, passionate and once-again valued marriage.
    In the trendiest Parisian nightclub - La Nouvelle Ève - Pronuptia presents its collection of bridal gowns designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier. That evening, the singer Arielle Dombasle sings her new release "Je vous salue, Mari".

    Christian Lacroix designs for Pronuptia
    In 1997, the great Christian Lacroix designs 8 dresses for the Pronuptia label. Making them by hand required 3 months' work, the designer being particularly fond of fine fabrics such as organza, duchesse satin, Calais lace and ruffled silk.

  • 2008
    50 dresses for 50 years
    For its 50th anniversary, Pronuptia created a one-off dress designed by Elisabeth Barboza, producing only 50 copies of it. Made to measure and hand-sewn, this dress called Noce d'Or (Golden Anniversary) was worn for the first time by Candice Didier on the occasion of the Courchevel Figure-Skating Gala, as well as by fifty young women at their weddings.

  • 2013
    47 stores in France and a new label
    Pronpuptia breathed fresh life into the market by creating the "Mademoiselle Amour" collection. French-style fashion and Pronuptia-style love with an extra dash of liveliness and freshness. To provide a collection that reflects modern young women, that was the intention of this new label that appeared in our stores.
    Mademoiselle Amour offers bridal gowns and cocktail dresses.
    As the 2014 season dawns, the Pronuptia network grows to include 47 stores in France.

    Since 2014, this timeless event has been the showcase for the new Pronuptia collection. The label, proud of its origins, is honoured to dress the new Miss France every year.

    Pronuptia opens its first store entirely for men in Paris. Pronuptia remains the label that cherishes French heritage while responding to the wishes and practices of the modern bride and groom.
